“No healing of the conflict between the spirit and the flesh is possible so long as our animal-instinctual nature is considered inferior to the mind and psyche,” says Robert Stein, a Jungian medical analyst with years of experience. His book explores the Incest Taboo for a new vision of therapy that can heal the love sex dichotomy and provides an uncompromising, sincerely felt challenge to conventional ego psychology, Jungian conservatism, Freudian reductionism, and to every method that veers away from the animal level of the human soul.

Robert Stein is that rare physician who can think as well as care. Among the thousands and thousands of writings in modern psychotherapy, this book numbers in that small handful that stands the test of time. No wonder Incest and Human Love has been translated into so many other languages. The book is itself a therapy: it frees.
